On March 8, 2023, with the presence of Mr. Hanno ABA Chairman, Import and Customs Committee headed by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Mohsin, held a meeting with Guest Speaker Mr. El Shahat Ghatwary, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, addressing “ACI system and its Advantages.”
Ghatwary assured that the Egyptian Customs Authority is trying to achieve a significant speedup of customs processes to reduce the cost of importation.
From ABA side, the meeting was attended by Mr. Medhat El Kady and Dr. Mohamed Mehrem Vice presidents of ABA Council, Mr. Mohamed Arafa, Mr. Muhammad Al-Qersh, and Ms. Nermien Mamish, Board Members, Mr. Mohamed Hefny Head of Internal Trade Committee, Mr. Magdi Al-Sissa, Head of Industry Committee, Mr. Abdel Aal Aly and Mr. Walid El Kayar Deputy Heads of Import and Customs Committee, as well as other ABA members.
And from Customs Authority side, Mr. Mohamed El Saied, Dr. Nagwa Zaghmour, Mr. Ahmed El Kernshawy, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Mr. Magdy Kamal, and Mr. Sayed Gomaa participated in the attendance of the meeting.
The discussion revolved around Importers problems with customs violations and fines, as well as issuing the electronic certificate.
