Egyptian Business Development Index – Reform
- Periodically measures business climate reforms from the perspective of the private sector, while considering Egypt’s specific context.
- The main objective of the index is to enable the Alexandria Business Association to contribute to improving business practices in Egypt through continuous engagement with policymakers, highlighting the performance of the business climate, its challenges, and available opportunities.
- First Edition: 2009, covering Alexandria Governorate.
- Second Edition: 2012, covering Alexandria and Cairo Governorates.
Microenterprise Business Climate Index
- In May 2013, the Alexandria Business Association launched a Business Climate Index for Microenterprises, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
- The index identifies the key obstacles facing microenterprises in Egypt.
- This index was developed based on the recommendations of the Reform Index, which highlighted that microenterprises face challenges that differ from those encountered by larger companies.
