The Industry & Industrial Zones Committee at Alexandria Business Association, Headed by Eng. Magdy El Sisa, held a joint meeting with representatives of the Industrial Control Authority to discuss the key challenges facing Egyptโs industrial sector and mechanisms to enhance cooperation with manufacturers.
During the meeting, Eng. Nevine Hussein, Head of the Industrial Control Authority branch, announced that manufacturers will soon be officially informed of the mandatory operational standards and compliance requirements needed to avoid violations, as part of ongoing efforts to support factories and improve industrial performance.
She emphasized that the Authority adopts a โspirit of the lawโ approach, granting a three-month grace period to regularize their status and comply with operational standards, in line with Egyptโs direction toward expanding its industrial base and increasing the number of factories nationwide.
๐น Inspections performed by the authority are:
*Product cards and classification records
* Machinery and labor compliance
* Finished goods warehouses
* Production input invoices and documentation
The meeting also highlighted the Authorityโs role in supporting the national quality ecosystem and its cooperation with the Consumer Protection Agency.
Mr. Mohamed Hanno, ABA Chairman, reaffirmed ABAโs commitment to supporting industrial and social development.
He also noted that ABA plans to submit recommendations to the Minister of Industry aimed at improving the industrial committeeโs system and enhancing Egyptโs business environment.
The discussion further stressed the importance of issuing a practical guideline for factories outlining the mandatory standards and requirements needed to avoid violations and strengthen compliance awareness across the industrial sector.
