ABA Organized a meeting headed by Mr. Mohamed Hanno, ABA Chairman, with the Ms .Marjolein Jongman- Head of Economic and Development Cooperation and Mr. Louis Martens-Deputy Head of Economic Section, in the Netherland Embassy on Wednesday 3rd of May 2023 at ABA headquarters.
The meeting was held with the aim of introducing ABA Activities and Business Units to our guests, exploring more means of cooperation thus, expanding the investment opportunities in various sectors between ABA Members’ Companies and Netherland’s Companies. Also, the challenges facing both sides in the trade relations Process were discussed.

Asserting the positive and essential role of business leaders in Egypt’s economic progress is a priority on the government’s agenda.
“The Egyptian government believes the private sector to be the primary driver of economic growth in Egypt” Mr Hossam Heiba, CEO of GAFI, explained in his key note address to an Eftar gathering hosted by Alexandria Business Association in Cairo on Sunday 9 April 2023.

Upon an invitation from the Netherlands Embassy, Alexandria Businessmen Association, participated with the presence of Mr. Mohamed Hanno – ABA Chairman, in the celebration of Netherlands King’s Day on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Attended the celebration from ABA, Mr. Ahmed Mansi, Secretary, Assistant General, and Mr. Basil Marco, Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Eng. Ashraf Noseir, Head of the Energy Committee, Ms. Riham Adel, Vice Head of the Entrepreneurship Committee, and Ms. Marwa Abuheif, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department.

“Alexandria Business Association” met with the Head of General Organization for Export and Import Control – GOEIC.
ABA Import and Customs Committee, headed by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Mohsin, held a meeting with Mr. Essam El Nagar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control – GOEIC, to discuss the future of Egyptian industry and exports according to the state’s strategy to reach 100 billion dollars, and in the presence of Mr. Hisham Mashhour – Head of the Central Administration of GOEIC branch in Alexandria in Alexandria.

From ABA side, the meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Hanno, ABA Chairman, Dr. Abdel Moneim Hafez, Vice chairman, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Mohsen, Head of Import and Customs Committee, as well as other ABA members.
Mr. Essam al-Naggar reviewed the services provided by GOEIC to the exporters, on top of which is the provision of foreign trade data to assist exporters and provide accurate information with the latest scientific methods, and its efforts in digital transformation and the trend towards a green economy which enhance the ability to achieve sustainable development in Egypt.

The attendees also discussed some obstacles and problems, and he demanded ABA to submit its proposal to overcome these obstacles.
