The Ministry of Environment and Alexandria governorate’s initiative to reduce single-use plastic bags
The Environmental Committee headed by Dr. Walid Elbarky, held a meeting on Wednesday, 30th of November 2022 with Dr. Sameh Riad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment in Alexandria and Head of the Agency Environmental Affairs for the West Delta Region.
The meeting was held with the aim of discussing the Ministry of Environment and Alexandria governorate’s initiative to reduce single-use plastic bags.
Attended from ABA side Dr. Mohamed Mehrem- Vice Chairman, Eng. Ashraf Nosier- Head of Energy Committee, Eng. Mohamed Ali Ragheb- Deputy Head of Tourism Committee, and Eng. Hesham Aboulela- ABA Member.
A presentation by Dr. Sameh Riad about marine litter and plastic waste, including negative impacts on the environment and international conventions that reduce the use of plastic and efforts to reduce the use of plastic materials and work to provide alternatives for them.
Another meeting will be coordinated with owners of major trade chains and factory owners to discuss the direct services.
