About ABA

The Association seeks to represent the interests of the business community and strengthen its role in supporting the national economy by improving the investment climate, encouraging industrial and commercial growth, and developing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It also focuses on human capital development through vocational training and capacity-building programs, while working to achieve sustainable development that reinforces Alexandria’s position as a leading economic and commercial hub locally and regionally.

The Association comprises specialized business units, including the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Project, Vocational Training and Employment Center (VTEC),  Middle East Development Center (MEDC), as well as the AMAAL Foundation for charitable initiatives and green initiatives. These efforts enhance the Association’s role in community investment, entrepreneurship empowerment, and the promotion of environmental and developmental responsibility

Efforts of Alexandria Business Association

Enhancing Egypt’s economic competitiveness.

Improving the business climate and supporting economic development through international and governmental meetings.

Increasing investment opportunities and trade exchange by signing cooperation protocols with local and international entities, including agreements with the Agricultural Exports Council to support exports

Enhancing human resource efficiency in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Alexandria Business Association through the provision of training programs

Community Development

Adoption of the Green Mediterranean Impact Development (GMID) Project, a three-year European Union–funded initiative signed in October 2019 and implemented in Egypt by the Alexandria Business Association in partnership with four other countries: Italy, Lebanon, and Tunisia.

Community initiatives in cooperation with ExxonMobil Egypt to train youth in refrigeration, air conditioning, and electrical fields.

Community development services through the opening of Shifak Clinic, providing free medical treatment to beneficiaries of the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Project.

Meetings with official entities, including discussions with the Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, in addition to several ministers.

Association Initiatives with Development Partners

Egypt Workforce Project in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Establishment of a Business Development Unit to support industrial sector development in cooperation with GIZ.

Japanese Embassy Grant to support the industrial sector in Alexandria Governorate.
