ABA Housing and Urban Development Committee, headed by Eng. Hany Yosry Bahgat, held a meeting with Dr. Ahmed Abd El Meguid Deputy of the Housing Committee in the Egyptian Parliament, on Wednesday 6th of December 2023 at ABA Headquarters. The Meeting was held with the aim of discussing the new draft law of “Reconciliation of Building Violations”.
From ABA side, the meeting was attended by Dr. Abdel Moneim Hafez, ABA Vice Chairman, Eng. Mohamed Abdelaziz Arafa, Mr. Mostafa Karram and Ms. Nermien Mamish ABA Board Members, and Mr. Walid Shawky Deputy Head of the Housing Committee.
Dr. Ahmed Abd El Meguid explained that the New Reconciliation Law provides many facilitations for the Egyptian Citizen. It aims to simplify the procedures and solve many of the problems that used to be in the old law. Still the presence of some Violations that affect construction safety and civil defense will take place as expected , but it will not be tolerated.
He explained that Law No.17 of 2019, currently in effect, will be canceled after the new law is officially implemented, and that the executive regulations of the law will be issued not later than 3 months from the date of publication of the law in the Official Newspapers.
